When a neighbourhood is booming, it’s imperative public spaces be rethought to meet the needs of the burgeoning population. Our work on the Triangle area offered us the chance to shape a contemporary vision of urban life on a human scale.

These considerations guided the design of the Triangle sector, including the creation of Passage Yolène-Jumelle and Parc Saidye-Bronfman, as well as the redevelopment of Parc de la Savane. These three green spaces provide the neighbourhood with a distinctive identity. All were crafted to create continuity with the connecting streets by using similar tones for the pavestones, while their uncommon patterning lends textural distinction. Signature street furniture dotted throughout the project unifies the landscaping style. Each of the newly developed spaces in its own unique way fosters a feeling of belonging for the community while meeting the needs of a diverse group of people. Residents can now relax beyond the walls of their apartments, clear their minds shooting hoops, tend a community garden, or picnic under the trees. Splash pads offer cooling fun for children and inviting paths please the area’s dog walkers. On a daily basis, these inviting places enhance everyone’s quality of life.
