Restaurants along the commercial corridor

Chemin de la Pointe-Nord and the adjacent public square are a gathering space for the neighbourhood, promoting a vibrant community lifestyle and enhancing the unique riverside area.

Designed as part of the major Pointe-Nord project on Nuns’ Island, this commercial corridor has been designed to revitalize the area. It marks the centre of the project, easily accessible to residents of the neighbouring condo towers and townhomes. Charming shops entice and delight locals with little indulgences, from bread fresh from the bakery’s oven to happy hours spend lounging on a sunny patio. Trees and street furniture dot the avenue, conferring an intimate feel to this open space that leads to the public square then on to the Parc de l’Esplanade and its spectacular view of the St. Lawrence.

Curving lines soften the path, imparting a promenade-like atmosphere, while rounded planters add interest and beauty, distinguishing the path from the usual linearity of urban arteries. Its welcoming character is enhanced by a diverse array of paving patterns and colors that seamlessly flow into the natural topography through patios, entrances, and steps. A Wallace-style drinking fountain lets people fill their water bottles before heading to the grassy areas of the park. Smaller perpendicular streets connect to this vibrant axis that marks the lively core of the neighbourhood.
