Wooden playground modules for kids

Parc de Taishan commemorates the friendship pact between Montréal’s LaSalle borough and the Chinese city of Taishan. Its design, like its raison d’être, celebrates the coming together of people from all walks of life.

The Parc de Taishan pays tribute to the strong Chinese community in the LaSalle neighbourhood. Calligraphy by Ngan Siu-Mui, a Montréal artist of Taishanese origin, adorns the monument designed by Projet Paysage at the park’s entrance. The public amenities are tailored to appeal to young and old alike, while enhancing urban biodiversity. In addition to a sleek splash pad, wooden playground modules cater for two different age groups, toddlers 18 months to 5 years old and children 5 to 12 years old. Their unique design prompts young ones to use their imagination and agility, fostering their confidence as they navigate the play structures. Children will find plenty to keep themselves entertained, as adults unwind on the pleasant urban furniture that melds perfectly with the site’s vegetation. Several benches offer opportunities to rest and bask in the sunlight. The perimeter of this sponge park is bordered by a dry riverbed that absorbs excess rainfall. As a whole, the recreational area serves as a gathering place for the community and revitalizes neighbourhood life while greening the surrounding residential development.
