While the variety of pools and the rooftop location presented significant constraints in terms of levelling, the team rose to the challenge by integrating stair landings, corridors, and lighting to yield intuitive circulation and a holistic thermal experience. The simplicity and effectiveness of the terraced site adds to the wellness benefits instilled by the spa’s complementary facilities. The materials marry the urban with the organic, particularly through tub vegetation irrigated by a customized system. In the heart of Gatineau’s Agora development, Huma Spa offers a bird’s‑eye view of the public square below and a breathtaking panorama of the region’s verdant hills. With both a design and setting seemingly suspended between the city landscape and the tranquility of the forest, Huma Spa provides an experience attuned not to the ticking of the clock, but to the natural rhythms of the body and the changing seasons.
